march&finals

Okay so this post is a bit late cause I have been so busy since finals. Now I am trying to even remember what happened in march. It's all a blur. I was super busy with school. And I finished breaking bad. SO good. And I started another netflix series, friends. Nothing makes me laugh harder than that show. I tried to get the most out of rexburg and explored a ton. I spent way too much time at zeeks. Here is a jamble of pictures to describe the rest of my semester. I tried to spend a lot of time with friends and roommates cause I know we will all go our separate ways for summer. For now I am going to make a list of things I have learned this semester/junior year. side note does that mean I am a senior now!? uhh...not old enough to graduate yet.

1. Love your enemies. The only thing you can do when someone doesn't like you is to love them and be kind. ignore the fact that they don't like you & smile and just ask how their day is.

2. Trust the Lord. He knows best and what we need. Pray to Him for guidance, be patient and He will answer.

3. Work hard in school & it will pay off. I spend all day on campus but it was so worth it. I love my major & teachers. They helped me so much. I made great friends in my classes as well.

4. Read the scriptures daily. Oh my gosh how it made a difference in my day/ semester. This semester has been seriously the best & I think it has a lot to be being in tune with the spirit.

5. Boys suck. oh wait I already knew that. Dating is a tough game. I literally had no time for boys this semester. I know the right boy will come around someday but for right now I am totally okay with being single because it is a time for me to grow. I much rather be happy&single than taken&unhappy.

6. It's okay to take time to relax, I felt like I always had to be busy this year. But you know what it's okay to not be social and watch netflix instead.

7. The best people make for the hardest goodbyes. My friends are the best. okay you all knew this. but seriously they are the best and idk what I would do without my roommate maddi. So glad she roomed with me. She helped me so much and is supportive with everything. and hates the same girls I hate ;)

8. My parents are literally the best people on the planet. They love me unconditionally. Even when I am a bit crazy. They would do anything for me. I'm so blessed.

9. Imitation is the highest form of flattery. When someone copies you it just means they wanna be you which I mean who doesn't cause i'm so cool.

10. Time management. I feel like I finally mastered college and know how to manage my time. I even had time to donate plasma twice a week.

Well it has been a great year. I am now getting ready for Africa. I can't believe I leave in 12 days. I'm freaking out a bit. I still have so much to do. Right now it is nice to relax and spend time with family before I leave. Peace out Junior year.

#becausehelives

My heart is very full today with it being Easter and listening to the prophet and apostles today. Now that I am older Easter seems less like a holiday filled with the easter bunny and candy and more like a day to remember the Savior and all He has done for us. I love the holy week and how we get to celebrate His resurrection. Because He lives there is hope for the future. Because He lives I can find peace&comfort. Because He lives I am never alone. Because He lives I can overcome anything. Because He lives I can live with my family for eternity. Because He lives I can find joy. Because He lives I will be resurrected. Let us remember Him ALWAYS. And remember He is not here, For He is risen.

Here are some notes on conference that I took because it was SO good:

- "The home is the basis of a righteous life, and no other instrumentality can take it's place or fulfill it's essential functions" Russell M Nelson

During my scripture study today I read d&c 20:22-24 "He suffered temptation but gave no heed unto them. He was crucified, died, and rose again the third day. And ascended into heaven to sit down on the right hand of the Father to reign with almighty power according to the will of the Father." I thought it was no coincidence that I read this today. I am now reading D&C since I finished the BOM (woo). I love this book as well. I love feasting the words of Christ and making it apart of my day.

I don't think we can fully comprehend what Jesus Christ did for us. I know he loves us and I am eternally grateful for his atoning sacrifice. I hope you all had a great easter and listening to conference!
Happy Easter

SLOT CANYON

This past weekend my parents were invited to go to a slot canyon in southern utah. Landon Haycock and his wife wanted my parents to go with them. My parents can't say no so they told me they were coming to utah and I was like I wanna go! Brittany and Brian went as well. We left friday night in a rented suburban. I forgot how funny my family was. I was literally loling the whole way down. We stopped to get hawaiian food. We finally got to the camp site and set up. The stars and moon were beautiful. I love being in the middle of no where.

We woke up early to get ready and hike. We went to the Bluejohn Canyon. It is where Aron Ralston had to cut his arm off cause a rock got his arm stuck. He was hiking by himself and they made a movie out of it called 127 hours. We hiked in to the canyon and had to start canyoneering at the East Fork Canyon. It was 4 miles long and it was down hill. We never had to rappel but there was a few times we had to hold on to a rope and walk down. It was a little scary but not bad. I definitely went past my comfort level. We then finally got out of it and then had to walk in the sand and desert which felt like forever for like 2 miles. We finally saw other hikers. It was nice not having it be crowded. We then got to the main canyon which is uphill. It was fine and very beautiful. And then we got to the main obstacle. Oh my gosh we had to go up like 200 ft. Luckily Landon is like a pro so he would climb up and then tie a rope and then we had to climb and like shimmy up. I used so much upper body strength. Good thing I worked out. It was the hardest thing ever. There were 3 different obstacles one after another. I was so tired after it. Brittany like started crying. It was probably the hardest physical thing I have had to do. But I did really like it! I was soooo scared though. I finally got up the last huge rock. I had so much scrapes and my backback was torn. It was insane. We then had another few miles back to the car. We were all so sore afterwards.

It was about 10.5 miles and it took us like 9 hours. The canyon was sooo skinny at some parts. I had to take my backpack off to get through. I still can't believe I did it. It was beautiful and I am so glad I went. We went to Rays diner afterwards. It was way yummy. We got back to brittanys and her downstair neighbors are crazy and called the cops on us for being "loud". All we were doing was getting ready for bed. The cops felt bad cause they knew we werent having a party or whatever. Luckily Brittany is moving into a townhouse. We checked it out and it was way nice.

Anyways it was a good weekend seeing family and eating good food. I'm back at school now...and I'm just so ready to be done with school. Finals suck but I will be done soon! Make sure you guys watch conference and have a good easter!! :)

My parents really wanted me to make a video of our trip, Here it is:
