Ethan had a week off from school and so we decided to go to Arizona to visit my mission. It was so fun! We drove Saturday to go straight to Show low. We stayed at the Lewis' three nights and it was great! Sunday we went to two wards that I served in from my last area. We went to Paloma ward and it was their fast Sunday. I snuck in at the beginning and didn't tell anyone that I was coming. A member that I taught got up and bore his testimony. He was celebrating his one year anniversary of getting sealed in the temple. He saw me and told the congregation that he would love to hear me speak and bare my testimony. So of course I had to get up. It was really cool and I felt kind of like a missionary again. We had dinner at the Lewis' and Deanna came over like old times. She is my old investigator. Charlie made a wonderful meal. We then went to a hispanic families for dinner for tacos and we show up and they have enchiladas. I feel SO bad because Ethan is a vegetarian and I thought he could just choose not to put meat on his tacos but the meat was alll over the enchiladas. He didn't want to be rude so he ate them and I felt SO bad haha. Oh well. They gave us petrified wood. They are so cute. We saw a bunch of other families too. Monday we had lunch with Papa Phil at Annie's! They have the best grilled cheese! We then drove down to Eagar and I got to see a bunch of families there. Ethan was a trooper because I literally dragged him place to place. It was so nice. Ethan loved Eagar. I mean how can you not.
Tuesday we drove down to the valley. We went to Old Town Scottsdale. We ate lunch at deigo pops, really good mexican food. We then walked around. We got icecream at the sugar bowl. It was so weird but nice not having to proselyte! I took him to fashion square mall. We then went to other places and shopped before meeting up with the Daughtees at Cafe Rio for taco tuesday. Members always loved taking us there. It was so fun catching up. We then stopped by the De Benckendorffs. We then went to my mom's cousin Robyn's to stay the next couple nights there. It was really fun staying with them. Their house and food was so nice. Wednesday we hung out by the pool in the morning. I then showed him the gilbert and mesa temple. While we were at the gilbert temple we talked to some sister missionaries. They told us they needed a ride somewhere so I offered them one and they took us up on it! It was cool getting to serve missionaries in my mission. The mesa temple is under construction though so we didn't really see much.We go snow cones though from bahama bucks. We then get lunch at grimaldis! Best pizza ever! We then go to my mission office to see President and sister Robinson! It was really fun catching up! We got to get some lemons and grapefruit from their trees. We then met up with Sue and Ethan loved her! We then got some dinner with Robert and Robyn.
Thursday morning we drove down to Sedona. We hiked Cathedral rock and then went to Red Rock Crossing for lunch. We swam there cause it was so hot. It was really nice to be in the sun! We then hiked seven pools. Then we ate at a yummy mexican restaurant called havelina cantina. That was super good. We then went to temple mesa to watched the sunset.We stayed at the Jarcows in flagstaff. Friday morning we explored downtown flagstaff and it was actually so cute and fun!! We went back and drove back down to sedona since we loved it so much. We went to slide rock park and it was SO worth it. It was really hot out and so fun sliding down rocks and jumping off rocks. We ate lunch in the sun there. We then went and hiked devil's bridge for sunset. It was so perfect!! We got back to the Jarcows and had our leftover mexican food.
Saturday morning we drove to the Grand Canyon!! And it was free cause of earth day so that was a blessing!! We stopped by Yavapai Point, Powell Point, Pima Point, Grandview point, and desert view point. It was way fun and really cool. I just love being with ethan. We then drove to Page, AZ and went to horseshoe bend. We went for sunset and it was AMAZING. highly recommend. They start charging now though :( We got to brittanys at 2am. We spent easter sunday with them. It was good being with family and eating yummy food. We saw some of Ethan's family too. It was a much needed trip and I am just so glad I got to share with Ethan a little part of me.
