winter 2021

Well we made it to spring. This winter actually went by pretty fast but I also feel like a lot happened. Winter started with Christmas break. It was really fun being home for Christmas, I hadn’t been home for Christmas in 6 years! Everyone was shocked haha. Anyways it was really good. Sadly Brittany’s family wasn’t there. We skied a couple days, went downtown, did some hikes, played lots of pickle ball, and ate lots and lots of good food. My dad started working toward the end while we were there. He worked Christmas Eve and Christmas night so we didn’t open presents until right before dinner. We had grandma and grandpa fisher over and Ethan’s parents over for dinner. My mom made it really magical, it was awesome. Our last day we got to see Ethan’s grandma and his uncle. That was really good.

A fun weekend was when my parents came in February. We skied at Brighton and snowbird with them. We had a galentines night with my mom and sisters. We got Korean bbq yummy. And then went to target and got sweet rolled tacos. Pretty much a perfect night. Except on the drive home. I got stuff for like an hour because of an accident. The roads were really slick it was scary. Valentines Day we had a dinner together. We also spent time with Ethan’s family that weekend cause his parents were in town and maelie had a birthday party. We got lunch at super chix the next day. Way yum.

Another big highlight was going to Colorado! We first stayed in Frisco. We went to Breckinridge Saturday night, it was fun to look at the shops and eat good food. We stood in line for an hr to get crepes but it was worth it. We skied copper mountain on Sunday and Monday. We got blue skies both days and it was really fun!! We loved it. Monday night we drove to Ethan’s aunt Anna’s house and stayed the night with her. We watch the bachelor with them. Tuesday we went to garden of the gods and paint mines interpretive park. It was a nice sunny day of easy hikes. Good to be outside. We went to Red Robin for dinner cause Ethan had a free burger and sundae! It was really yummy. We stayed at Hayley’s house the next two days. Wednesday we explored Denver. We got biscuits at this one place and it was SO good. We rented scooters and went around the city park. It was a cool park with statues and such. We got blessed with nice weather again. We parked downtown and explored the main attractions. Did a lot of walking. Went to union station, the dairy block, and red rock amphitheater. We had the best icecream at little man icecream. We ate dinner at this taco place and it was so good and they gave us free food! Thursday we drove to steamboat. On the way there we stopped at this brunch place and got breakfast burritos cause Ethan had a bogo coupon. Haha so random. We then went to strawberry hit springs in steamboat and it was soooo fun. It was a gorgeous night and it was really fun soaking in the hot pools and jumping in the cold ones. Friday we skied at steamboat. Around half way through the day Ethan broke his ski binding..haha so he had to ski on it the way down but it luckily worked. It was going to be $300 to fix it there and we could get it maybe later that night. Anyways so he decided to rent skis for the rest of the day. It was sunny and nice but we didn’t like the terrain as much as copper. We went downtown for dinner and had yummy Thai food. And then we went hot tubbing. Saturday we supposed to get a huge snow storm so we just decided to not ski Saturday and leave in the morning to beat the snow which was a good idea. We only had to drive in snow for like 30 mins. Plus we would have to rent Ethan skis for Saturday and that would cost more money. The drives were bad at all. I got a shamrock shake on the way home! It was a really fun trip!
