spring 2020

Oh holy cow what an eventful few months. Covid19 changed everything. There were days where I couldn’t even believe what was happening. And I still can’t believe we are living in a global pandemic. It is the weirdest time to be alive. Every day was something new. And that’s all ever anyone talked about. If there wasn’t an hour I wasn’t thinking about it, it was so nice. Face masks, toilet paper, and hand sanitizer are like pure gold. It is slowly normalizing. Utah never really took it too seriously anyways. And now the numbers are going up. We only closed the store at work for like a week. And got back to normal hours after like a month. Most things are open now but it’s still just crazy. And then a few weeks ago there was the murder of George Floyd. This year just never ends. But weirdly enough, this pandemic happened at a really good time for Ethan and I. Luckily I just got my job about two months earlier so it was a blessing I didn’t have to look for job during the pandemic.Ethan did loose his job but now we get unemployment and it’s the best thing that’s ever happened to us I swear. It should pay for all his schooling before his masters. He JUST decided to go to UVU and do environmental science. So yes he changed his major AGAIN. A little crazy and I feel like this school journey is NEVER ending. But right now he is doing online school at SLCC. And we mightttt be moving on Saturday… I think we find out tomorrow. Pretty nuts. Our life is crazy. We aren’t packed at all, don’t have furniture, but we are so excited to get out of here! If we have to wait a couple more months to move I think we will be disappointed. But this place is in vineyard, and the first two months would be free. Which would be so nice. It’s brand new and pretty perfect. It’s not super close to his school but we will make it work. But luckily now, I work from home half of the time.

But besides everything gong on, it’s actually been a really good few months. I mean it’s warmer weather is always better. I love summer! It’s our first summer here in Utah and it’s so fun to explore. We have been going on many bikes rides, eating all the ice cream, and playing lots of Mario cart. I definitely will miss living with my nephews, They are so cute. We had both Ethan’s birthday and my birthday this spring. Ethan’s was a bit sad though cause it’s when covid19 just got serious and you couldn’t do anything! I bough jazz game tickets with his brothers, that got canceled, and then we were going to go to top golf and then that got canceled. We both worked on his birthday. We then go take out Red Robin and then went to Saratoga springs to long board. We had twisted sugar and then cheesecake. Just a pretty chill night. But for my birthday we went SKY DIVING! Haha I told him it was for both of us though because we didn’t really do much for his birthday. We actually went sky diving the day before my birthday cause they were closed on Wednesday. But it was the coolest experience ever and I am so glad Ethan made it happen!! I was so nervous the day before and the morning of. But once we started getting training and getting ready I calmed down. The plane was SO small. It could only fit 4 people and we were all sitting on top of each other. We had to wear a face mask in the plane which was dumb. The plane ride was cool and felt like we just kept going up and felt like the longest ride ever! We were right next to the mountains! I was the first to jump. You go onto this little ledge, hold on to your straps and put your head back. Luckily he was the one that pushed us off the plane. We did a backflip and then leveled out. It was AMAZING the free fall! It wasn’t scary at all! Felt like I was floating! It was only 25 seconds sadly. The parachute part was really fun though! We did 360s and turned like crazy. On my actual birthday we went to seven peaks in provo and it was so fun! We went on all the slides and multiple times. We then went to Texas Roadhouse and waited forever for our food…but it was still fun. Ellie, Brady, Aarun, Camille, and Brittany and the kids came. It was lots of fun. Crazy I am 26. Bye dad’s health insurance…

Something that we started doing a lot of was outdoor rock climbing! We went at least once a week for a couple months. At the beginning of spring, we would go when it was cold and snowy even. But yeah we have mainly been to rock canyon but a few other places as well. And then we started to take Brady and it’s just so fun to be outside. And I did some REALLY hard routes. Feels so good to complete. Since Ethans gym membership was paused it was good we were still were able to do it. He loves rock climbing and is SO good at it.

In May we went to southern Utah almost every weekend. Haha so much driving but so much fun. We went to Moab just for the day. We Mill Creek waterfall, Slick rock trail and dead horse point state park. It was so freaking fun. The next weekend we went to Escalante. We swam at the petrified forest state park. We also camped and it was so fun and warm! We hiked lower calf creek falls and it was SO pretty! We went in the freezing water but it was so fun. We also hiked zebra slot canyon and I didn’t make it all the way but Ethan did and pictures are gorg. We then went to Devil’s garden at sunset and it was so pretty too. We then got the best pizza of my life and a giant soda. It was a goooood day. The weekend after that we went to Saint George with Brittany and Brian. We shared a hotel with them for one night and it was so cheap. We hiked the red cliffs, there was no water falls but still a pretty and fun hike. We then swam in quail creek state park haha. It was so funny and the water was so clear. Got to the hotel and swam in the pool with Henry. We went to pioneer park and explored. And got viva chicken for dinner. And watched the sunset. OH and we got zeppes Italian ice and it was the best I ever had. The next day we rented an rv and went to toquerville falls and it was so pretty and fun. I jumped off the water fall! Then Ethan and I went to get in a last swim at quail creek state park.
