Holy crap where do I begin? Well I already mentioned in the last blog about my car…RIP ANGUS. It honestly has been a kind of sucky and stressful summer. And yes it’s all because of freaking Walmart totaling my car. So summer didn’t start the best…I am honestly just glad this summer is over. But so many miracles happened. We lost my husbands for a month and we found it (the freaking car rental finally found it?), My Facebook got hacked and deleted and I recovered it?!, and we bought a car! (In the freaking crazy market) I do feel like my summer was robbed a little bit. So many hours of crying, and stress but it also wasn’t all bad!
Our trip to standpoint, where our car died was actually so fun though! I think it was all worth it? It was the 4th of July and we went to a cute little parade, boating, bbq, volleyball, fireworks on the lake on the boat, good food, dog cuddles, pickle ball, late night hot tubbing, skinny dipping, Mexican food, huckleberry picking, jet skiing, nike ride to ice cream. Pretty much a dream.
My highlight of the summer was actually going to Zion! We hiked the narrows and subway. We were actually really close to not going because it was supposed to be raining and chance of flash floods. Some people backed out. My dad actually ended up coming. It was Brady and his two friends, My two sisters and Rachels boyfriend and my dad, and of course Ethan. We woke up at like 5 am to hike the narrows and it was a blast!! We made perfect timing and it started raining right when we got to the parking lot. The next day We woke up at 3am lol to hike the subway! It was literally my favorite hike ever. It was a great group of people and it went so well. The first hour we hiked in the dark and it was just a straight and flat path so it was perfect. Swimming and jumping in the water was so fun. It was a long day though holy cow. It was nice because we ended at a good time though so we ate dinner and got home at a good time. It started raining once we got out of the canyon so it was a little scary that it could flash flood but it was also such an open canyon.
Another trip that we went on was that we went home! It was good, my whole family was there. It was really fun. We went berry picking, ate lots of good food, bike rides, hot tubbing, pickleball, Eagle falls, Kirkland waterfront with Madi and Devin, lots of pie, ferry rides, the olympics, boating, kayaking camano island with Wayne. His parents moved to stanwood and it is really nice!
Overall I learned a lot this summer. It definitely didn’t go as planned but does anything go as planned? I am really excited about our new car, I like it a lot. It’s a S2014 ubaru Impreza sport. Its dark grey and we got it from a guy who rebuilt cars. Nothing too serious happened to it, he showed us pictures of what it looked like before. It was a crazy day buying it. It went on sale Sunday night and we saw it Monday morning. I picked Ethan up from class and had to drop him off again to go to class, and then picked him up again to buy it, and then dropped him off again. And then we picked it up later for him to do some things on it. I’m very glad we have an all wheel drive car. Car shopping was hell. We spent a full two weeks looking and it was all we did in our spare time and all we talked about. Spend two full weekends car shopping. Ah it was the worst but I am so glad its over. We learned our lesson because a week before we bought our car we found an outback 2016…for only 10k. It was pretty perfect honestly. It was a private seller but we didn’t have any cash, our check was coming the next day from Walmart. A guy came right after us and bought it with cash. Which isnt that smart because he didn’t take it to a mechanic and it was a rebuilt.
