falling for fall

I can't believe this semester is already halfway over. It definitely has been a different semester. All my friends are pretty much gone but I love hanging out with the boys and maddi. I feel like I have learned a lot this semester. I learned I only need two more semesters after this one to graduate! So crazy! I don't feel old enough. I have no idea what I will do after I'm done. But I have a while to decide. Lately I have been thinking about what it means to be happy. Honestly I never think about this because luckily I'm normally always happy. I know what makes me happy. It is the gospel of Jesus Christ. I'm a person who likes to go out and do things. When I don't have anyone to go out and do things with I go crazy bored and get lonely. We are never alone though. I'm so glad I have my Heavenly Father. He has taught me so much and I am so grateful for the people he puts in my life. It is the simple things we do everyday that makes us happy. We can't wait around to be happy. Decide to be happy and be positive. If someone screws you over, forget about them. They aren't worth it. Put your head up and move on. I'm so lucky to have great roommates and friends. Hopefully a man will fall into my life soon but for now I am happy. We can't rely on someone else to make us happy. Choose what makes you happy. I love fall so much. I love the yellow leaves, pumpkin carving, sweater weather, hot chocolate, and scary movies. To sum up my semester so far...

genconf.

I got to go to Utah this weekend for General Conference. It was so fun. I got there and went to Brittany and Brian's. Kelsey and I stayed there for the weekend. We went out to Cubby's for dinner and then I went to the BYU game with some Jerusalem friends cause Joe got me a ticket. Shout out to Him! Sadly they lost to Utah State but it was still fun. I then went to Inn-n-out with Brooke and Katie. Then visited my friend Seth for a little.
Saturday Kelsey and I woke up early to try to get tickets for conference. We waited in standby and then Seth called me saying he had two tickets for us, what a stud. We were so lucky we got tickets! We went Sunday morning and it was wonderful. I love listening to the Prophet and his apostles and other church leaders. I still need to watch Saturday afternoon but here are some of my favorites from conference:

- "May we be faithful followers of Christ, examples of righteousness, thus becoming light to the wold" -Pres. Monson
- "To know what the voice of the Divine sounds and feels like, read His words, study the scriptures, and ponder them" -Elder Scott
- "We are not here in this life to waste our time, grow old & die. God wants us to grow and achieve our potential." - Elder Godoy
- "His path will take us safetly home" -Pres. Monson
- "All of us can walekth the Path He walked when we choose to follow Him as we journey through mortality" -Pres. Monson
- "Physically walking where Jesus walked is less important than walking as He walked" -Pres. Monson
- "The atonement of Jesus Christ provides the cleanser necessary to be made pure and clean" -Elder Bednar
- "We must not sacrifice out exaltation of that of our families for less important interests" -Elder Packer
We ran into literally the whole world. Well not really but we met up with Carly and it was so good seeing her! It is still so weird that she is married. We went shopping for hours...but it was so fun and necessary of course. We ate at kneaders and caught up. I love that girl. It was a beautiful day on temple square. I'm so lucky I got to watch conference live.
Later We met up with Morgan!! Our roommate from first semester. We hadn't seen her since and it was so good seeing her! She is so cute. We got cafe rio with her.
I then went to a Jerusalem reunion. It was so good seeing them. It really felt like no time passed though. We were all the same and still so close. I missed them so much.
I then hung out with Morgan again and we naturally took more pictures.
Okay Sunday, the day I said goodbye to Kelsey for 18 months. We watched conference. Brittany made us yummy breakfast. She is the best. After conference Kelsey and I had to say goodbye. We took some last photos together. I didn't think I was going to cry but as we were hugging it was hitting me. It still doesn't seem real. I don't know what I am going to do without her. She is my best friend and she is going to be such a good missionary.
Love you Kelsey Rose Johns <3
